There Are No Coincidences

Have you ever looked back at an incident in your life, and thought, well, that was meant to be?

In hindsight, not only are things 20/20, but they are painfully obvious that they are meant to be.

And when you want something to happen so badly, and it never happens, and in fact the complete opposite happens, when you look back, wasn’t it meant to be?

It happens to me all the time.

Many times I have wished, and hoped, and even prayed for something to happen.

And it doesn’t.

And then something ELSE happens – and I have one of those “Aha” moments – and think, “yes, THAT was meant to be!”

And that’s why I think there are no coincidences in life. That everything is somehow meant to be; carved into some extraordinary plan.

When you meet someone and you just “click”.

When an extraordinary animal comes into your life.

When a job opens up and offers you a new career.

I read “The Celestine Prophecy” several years ago, and it said that when a path seems clearer, or brighter, or easier, than others, that is the path you are meant to take.

Oprah says when a choice feels like freedom, that is the right choice.

But I digress.

I think the universe is sending us messages all the time. Whether it be a song that just happens to come on the radio, or a tv show that just happens to have a great script, or a movie that sends an empowering message.

And to that end, there are no coincidences. We are meant to hear that song, see that tv show or movie. They are meant to help us in our lives and in our dilemmas. And what human doesn’t have a dilemma.

And when something happens that we are aghast about, that we can’t possibly believe has just happened, be it good or bad, when we look back at it, we can realize that there are no coincidences.  Only what is meant to be.
